Resum

This article deals with the guild of the shipwrights and the caulkers of Barcelona during the first half of the 17th century. The analysis of the two trades sheds light on the different aspects of the world of the shipbuilding in the city: the relationships between masters and apprentices, the regulation of work, spiritual assistance to the guild members, the structure of the guild or the incorporation of the new members. It is also important to analyze the relationships between the shipwrights and caulkers with the Royal Shipyards of Barcelona and its workers.
